I am a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin, Tx. My studies are concentrated in La Raza Unida Party, Crystal City, Tx, and teachers in the Crystal City School District during the 1970s and early 1980s. I do this work in the Cultural Studies in Education program in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. Currently I am a teaching assistant for Dr Luis Urrieta and the book review editor for The Anthropology and Education Quarterly.
I was a bilingual teacher for six years in the Austin Independent School District. I worked with a majority Latino immigrant population, which I really enjoyed. I would love to return and help the families I knew and help them in any way that I can.
